Barrhill to New Luce

Map10 This section of the route is 13 miles in length and it starts from Barrhill passing first the Martyr's Tomb, then passing Barrhill Station heading south over moorland and forest to New Luce.

Places of interest on this section are Martyr's Tomb and on arrival in New Luce the ruined churchyard of Peden Memorial Free Church and the present day kirk in New Luce. New Luce is also a conservation village and is on the route of the Southern Upland Way.

This section is already complete and frequently walked. For directional details simply click on this link and download instructions based on walking from Barrhill south to New Luce. These directional instructions are based on key points along the route which are defined using grid reference numbers. The relevant Ordnance Survey map relating to this section are Explorer Nos. 317 & 310.
