Membership Support

Membership is central to our work. As a charity, SPRF receives no Scottish Government funding, but we work in partnership with local Councils and statutory agencies like NatureScot, Historic Environment Scotland and Visit Scotland on route development, interpretation, and marketing. SPRF is also a reciprocal corporate member of Scotland’s Churches Trust and the Confraternity of St James.

We want to grow our audience of partners and participants. SPRF provides services that meet the needs and interests of a membership network open to everyone with an interest in pilgrim routes, both Organisations and Individuals. The former include community, heritage and walking groups, tourism businesses, local churches of all denominations and wider faith networks. It is this diversity of interests which makes each SPRF meeting a unique experience.

All SPRF members receive:

  • Information and preferential booking fees to attend all national meetings.

  • Voting rights at our AGM.

  • Regular newsletters covering current events and new developments relating to outdoor pilgrimage in Scotland.

  • Access to SPRF resources and reports via the Members area of the SPRF website.

Organisation members pay an annual subscription rate of £30, £60 or £120 that is related to their current level of unrestricted annual income. Each Organisation member can send up to three representatives to SPRF meetings.

Individual members pay an annual subscription of £25, eligible to Gift Aid, and have the option of allocating up to £10 to support the work of a designated pilgrim route Steering Group of their choice.

The SPRF subscription year runs from 1st August to 31st July. For Individual members, we offer rolling annual membership paid by Direct Debit for greater convenience.

Organisation and Individual membership application forms (including a Gift Aid / pilgrim route allocation authorisation form), and an electronic Direct Debit form are available to complete on our Individual Membership and Organisation Membership pages. A separate form for cheque or bank transfer payment is also available for download.

Data Protection

All details kept on the membership register are subject to the SPRF Data Protection Notice. These are only used for internal administration, e.g. meetings and newsletters, and are never made available to third parties without the express consent of the member.
